A Productive Idaho Falls Loop
The wind was definitely howling today, but it made for the perfect “get-it-done” atmosphere. Lori and I decided to lean into the cool weather and tackle a mountain of chores that have been stacking up.
Travel Diary: Swan Valley Stops
Our first stop was a morning essential: The Pottery Cup in Swan Valley. There’s nothing quite like a hot cup of local coffee to kickstart a day of adventure, especially with a long drive on the horizon.
After refueling, we swung by the post office to send off a few treasures. While we don’t have grandkids of our own, we’ve fully embraced our roles as the “fun aunt and uncle.” Our shopping missions are now all about finding the perfect gifts for our nephews, Harry and Samuel—it’s always a blast hunting for something special to send their way!
The Idaho Falls Hustle
Then, it was time for the hour-long haul into **Idaho Falls**. We had a specific mission:
Laundry: Back to the 1st Street laundry mat. It’s a full-time travel reality—sometimes you just have to hunker down and get the whites white again.
Truck TLC: While Lori held down the fort at the laundromat, I took the truck for a much-needed bath. Between the highway miles and the dust, it was looking a little rough.
Lunch: We took a break from the hustle for a fantastic meal downtown at The Snake Bite. If you’re ever in the area, it’s a great spot for a solid burger and a relaxed vibe.

Final Rounds
I squeezed in a haircut, we restocked the pantry at the grocery store, and made a crucial stop at the sporting goods store to pick up some bear spray for our upcoming hikes.
Winding Down Along the Water
To stretch our legs after all that driving and checking off boxes, we headed over to the **Greenbelt Trail**. Even with the wind, the walk along the Snake River was gorgeous. There’s something so grounding about moving water, and it was the perfect way to reset before the evening’s festivities.

We’re wrapping up this busy day with dinner downtown, catching up with some old friends from the jewelry industry. It’s going to be a late night by the time we make it back to the camper, but there’s a great sense of satisfaction in a day well-spent.
Now, time to enjoy the music, the stories, and hopefully, a slightly calmer breeze on the drive home.
